The Ottawa Adventure Film Festival returns with

We’ve included some new exciting events in 2019: a full week of festival, 2 pub events, 3 uOttawa events with guest speakers, a Best of night, and a variety of choose your own adventure activities.

We sold out most events last year so get your tickets early. You will not want to miss this year’s festival.

OAFF 2019

We are excited to announce a new opening event with our partners at Beyond the Pale. The event will feature the best action from 2017, 2018, and 2019. Come grab a pint and enjoy action as we kick off the festival.

A themed evening about disability in sport and in day to day life featuring guest speakers.
The Weight of Water is the story of a blind adventurer taking on an absurdly improbable challenge, kayaking the Grand Canyon. He desires the elusive state of being that so many of us seek, to be engaged in the present moment.

A themed evening about the Indigenous peoples of Canada featuring guest speakers.
The feature film is In the Footsteps of Our Ancestors. What many call the ‘worlds toughest hike’, the Canol Heritage Trail is a 355km rugged alpine path that weaves its way through vast canyons, rivers and thicket deep within the Mackenzie Mountains of the Sahtú region, NWT. In The Footsteps Of Our Ancestors is an epic documentary feature that follows the journey of 11 brave hikers during a 37-mile traverse of the trail as part of the 2017 Canol Youth Leadership Hike.

A themed evening about climate change and filmmakers’ role in the conversation about climate change featuring guest speakers.
Treeline, our feature film, follows a group of skiers, snowboarders, scientists and healers to the birch forests of Japan, the red cedars of British Columbia and the bristlecones of Nevada, as they explore an ancient story written in rings.

OAFF 2018

Last fall, we hosted our second annual festival. It was an honour to bring outdoor adventure films from around the world to our community and to recognize some locals with awards.
